Bullying has become an issue, not just in Mercer County or West Virginia, but all over the United States. Change however, begins at home, and so I am starting here with a group of locals in hopes we can orchestrate a plan for change. Anyone is welcome to join. Please feel free to invite others who share our goal, to join our group
While school violence as a whole is declining, bullying behaviors have increased by 5%.
Over the past few years, school violence has declined by 4%. That doesn’t mean that schools are safe havens, however. Bullying behavior increased by 5% between 1999 and 2001. Also, 86% of public schools in 2005-6 reported reported one or more incidents of violence or theft.

Teachers only catch 5% of bullying behavior
Bullying leads to other problem... anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, physical ailments, lower academic achievement
60% of kids who were bullies were convicted of a felony before the age of 25!
